- סִנְגְּלָרִיןm. pl. (variously corrupted) singulares, orderlies in the army; (under the later Roman emperors) imperial clerks in the provinces. Yalk. Num. 771 גירה בהן הס׳ he set the singulares on them, and they crushed their heads with clubs (v. Sm. Ant. s. v. Fustuarium); Sifré Num. 131 סנגדודים, סנגרורים; Y.Snh.X, 28d bot. סניגורים (corr. acc.).Ylamd. to Num. 10:2 quot. in Ar. s. v. סגנם: מה עשו הסניגורים (corr. acc., or סִגְנִיפִירִים signiferi?).
